3rd Parties - or online channels that I follow

As with applications, YouTube channels and internet sites, there are numerous online 'channels' catering to people with an interest in sailing. On this page, I [will] include links to those that I follow along with a description of the material.

Video Loggers

This young Australian couple have been Video logging their sailing adventures since they began over five years ago. From humble, complete beginners in an old Beneteau Cyclades, to landing a performance cruising Catamaran deal based on the popularity of their YouTube channel, through to starting a family, transporting Greta Thunberg back across the Atlantic in winter, and surviving the many ups and downs that cruising will bring, SLV is the channel that I've been following most closely. Real life, fly on the wall, entertaining and educational. There are lots of comparable channels to choose from, but SLV was one of the earliest.

Join Erik, a charming and determined young Norwegian, as he discovers his passion for sailing and takes on some epic, thoroughly well filmed and documented, adventures. His YouTube films, Sailing around the Norwegian Sea, are incredible.

Top Level Racing

Sail GP

Taking the Americas Cup foiling catamaran design, modifying it into a one design race boat, and starting an annual international race series. Stadium racing in 50 knot flying cats is as adrenaline boosting as sailing comes.

The Vendee Globe

Since Robin Knox-Johnstone won the first single handed, non stop around the world yacht race in 1969, the Vendee Globe has been the Everest for sailors. Awesome people and awesome sailboats against the world's biggest oceans.

The Ocean Race

The latest successor to the Whitbread and then Volvo Ocean Race series, The Ocean Race is for professional crews in another combination of awesome and awesome.

The Americas Cup

The oldest sporting cup in existence, and only held every four years, the next event is scheduled for March 2021, in Auckland, New Zealand. As the winners of the last event against the United States, NZ has dictated a radical foiling monohull that has to be seen to be believed.
